Episode 2: God’s Love for You Is Personal!

Do you ever wonder whether God loves you personally and individually?

If so you aren’t alone. It’s a common question.

We are surrounded by the conditional love of finite people so it’s difficult to grasp or understand that God would love us.

We know our faults. We know that God is perfect and sinless. We know that we aren’t.

So, we ask ourselves “Why would God, who is infinite and holy, love us when we are finite and sinful?”

Yet the good news of the Gospel is that He does!

Over and over scripture reminds us of God’s love.

And God’s love is personal.

Hi, I’m Pastor Rip Roberts and I am thrilled to welcome you to Point of Grace, the podcast ministry of Grace Point Fellowship!

Episode 2: God’s Love for You Is Personal!

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! - 1 John 3:1

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. – 1 John 4:9

The greatest demonstration of love is God’s gift of Jesus Christ to a lost world. It’s impossible to fully understand this divine love just from reading or hearing about it from others. God’s love must be experienced personally because God’s love for you is personal. As you grow in your love relationship with the Lord, you will begin to become more and more aware of the magnitude of His love.

God’s love for you is unconditional—He loves you regardless of your failures or successes. The love of God is impartial and unbiased—His love includes everyone.

The love of God is infinite and eternal—simply because God Himself is love! And yes, God’s love is personal—He loves each of us as if we were the only one in His world to love.

He loves you as His unique and special creation. God didn’t make anyone else like you and there isn’t anyone who loves you as much as God loves you. He lavishes His love on you. He bestows His love on you generously and extravagantly. He calls you His child because that is what you are. That’s WHO you are! You are the beloved child of God.

I know that the circumstances of life can cause you to become discouraged. You aren’t alone. Disappointment and discouragement is something we all experience. We’ve all had moments when we’ve been self-absorbed and felt the pain of unhappiness. At this moment you may feel the weight of your own troubles and your pain may seem unbearable. Events in your life may have caused you to become very aware of your shortcomings and failures. In times like these you will be tempted to be drawn into spiral of isolation and introspection where you find yourself continually looking within yourself for answers to life’s problems and solutions to your problems. I can tell you from experience that this choice will only make you more miserable.

So let me encourage you right where you are, no matter who you are or what your situation. Let the truth that God loves you as His Child change your perspective!

Instead of looking within yourself let God’s love inspire you to look up!

In the face of tough times, trouble and maybe even through tears focus on Christ and His great love for you, to remember that scripture tells us that we are “children of God,”.

Rely on His promise that our eternal destiny is heaven and that Jesus came so that we can “live in Him” and in God’s love right here and right now.

A certain hymn writer said it like this;

“A Friend I have, called Jesus, whose love is strong and true, and never fails how e’er ’tis tried, no matter what I do; I’ve sinned against this love of His, but when I knelt to pray, confessing all my guilt to Him, the sin-clouds rolled away.

Sometimes the clouds of trouble bedim the sky above. I cannot see my Savior’s face; I doubt His wondrous love; but He, from heaven’s mercy seat, beholding my despair, in pity bursts the clouds between and shows me He is there.”

When you remember that God’s love for you is personal and learn to trust in His love for you, you will find hope in every circumstance as you live in a loving relationship with our Lord. Then you will have the joy of knowing that Jesus will keep you every day because of His great love.

Choose to live with joy because you know what it means to be personally loved and personally forgiven by God’s great love.

It is my continual prayer that every time you tune into the Point of Grace Podcast you become better equipped and more encouraged thru the teaching and practical application of the Word of God.

So, stay tuned, keep listening, keep reading, keep sharing and remember that God loves you and we here at Grace-Point Fellowship Love you too!
